Concrete Slab Removal done right
A structural slab is a different job from a patio. House and garage slabs often have thickened edges, interior footings, post-tension cables, plumbing lines and vapor barriers. Removing one cleanly means knowing what is inside it before we start breaking.
We remove slab-on-grade foundations after a house or garage is demolished, clear old pads to make room for ADUs, and break out commercial and industrial floor sections for new trenches, pits or full replacements. Plumbing under the slab is exposed and left for your plumber to cap or reuse.
What’s included
- Slab inspection for post-tension cables, footings and embedded utilities
- Slab and footing break-out and removal
- Exposure of under-slab plumbing for your plumber
- Vapor barrier and sand removal
- Haul-off and recycling
- Pad graded to the condition your soils engineer requires
Our process
How we handle concrete slab removal
- 01
Identify the slab
We check for post-tension stamps or cable ends, which require a specialized de-tensioning plan.
- 02
Locate utilities
Plumbing, electrical and gas in or under the slab are identified and verified dead.
- 03
Break & remove
Slab and footings are broken out and loaded.
- 04
Export & grade
Soil export is handled if required and the pad is left ready for the next phase.

What affects the price
Every estimate we write is based on measurements, not guesses. These are the factors that move the number most for concrete slab removal:
- Slab area, thickness and footing depth
- Post-tensioned vs. conventionally reinforced slab
- Plumbing and utilities embedded in or under the slab
- Soil export or over-excavation required
Concrete Slab Removal in Orange County
Post-tensioned slabs are common in Orange County homes and commercial buildings built from the 1970s onward, particularly in master-planned communities. Cutting a tensioned cable without a plan can be dangerous, so we check for it on every slab we quote.

FAQ
Concrete Slab Removal questions
What is a post-tension slab and why does it matter?
A post-tensioned slab has steel cables pulled tight after the concrete cures. Cutting them without first releasing tension can cause sudden, dangerous movement, so we identify and de-tension them properly before demolition.
Can you remove a slab to build an ADU?
Yes. We remove old garage slabs, patios or pads and grade the area for your ADU builder.
Do you remove the footings too?
Yes, unless your engineer wants them left in place. Footing removal is included in our scope by default.
