Concrete Demolition done right

Concrete demolition is our core work. Every job is different underneath: a four-inch patio with no reinforcement breaks out in an afternoon, while a six-inch driveway with rebar on a thickened edge needs a hydraulic breaker and a plan for separating the steel. We figure that out on the site walk, not after we have started.

We remove driveways, patios, walkways, pool decks, garage and house slabs, footings, curbs, stairs and retaining structures across Orange County, and we use the right size of equipment for the access you have — from walk-behind breakers in a narrow side yard to skid steers and excavators on open sites.

What’s included

  • Measurement and thickness check before pricing
  • Saw-cutting clean edges where concrete meets what stays
  • Breaking with breakers, jackhammers or equipment sized to the site
  • Rebar and wire-mesh separation for metal recycling
  • Loading and hauling to a concrete recycler
  • Subgrade left level and ready for new concrete, pavers or landscaping

Our process

How we handle concrete demolition

  1. 01

    Measure & locate

We measure the area, check thickness and call DigAlert (811) so underground utilities are marked before we break ground.

  2. 02

    Saw-cut

Clean saw-cut lines separate what comes out from what stays, so the edge of your new pour is straight.

  3. 03

    Break out

Concrete is broken into manageable pieces using the smallest equipment that will do the job efficiently.

  4. 04

    Load & haul

Concrete and steel are loaded separately and hauled to recyclers.

  5. 05

    Prepare subgrade

The base is cleaned and leveled to the elevation your next contractor needs.

What affects the price

Every estimate we write is based on measurements, not guesses. These are the factors that move the number most for concrete demolition:

  • Square footage and thickness of the concrete
  • Rebar, wire mesh or thickened edges
  • Access for equipment and the distance to the truck
  • Saw-cutting required to protect adjacent concrete
  • Haul distance and any soil export needed

Concrete Demolition in Orange County

Concrete in many Orange County neighborhoods was poured on expansive clay soils, which is why so many driveways and patios here are heaved and cracked. When we remove it we can also over-excavate and export soil if your new contractor or soils engineer calls for it.

FAQ

Concrete Demolition questions

How much does concrete removal cost?

Pricing depends mostly on square footage, thickness, reinforcement and access. A small, accessible patio costs far less per square foot than a thick, reinforced driveway with limited access. We give a firm written price after measuring on site — at no cost.

Do you recycle the concrete?

Yes. Clean concrete goes to a recycler where it is crushed into base material, and the steel goes to a metal recycler.

Can you remove just part of a slab?

Yes. We saw-cut a clean line so the section that stays is undamaged and ready to tie into new concrete.

Will heavy equipment damage my lawn or driveway?

We choose equipment that fits your access and lay down protection where we travel over surfaces that stay. Any risk to existing hardscape or landscaping is discussed before we start.

Do you install new concrete?

Our focus is demolition, removal and hauling. We leave a clean, level subgrade and can coordinate the schedule with your concrete or paver contractor.
